Lithography is a 17 Century technique that has been brought into the 21 Century with the help of 3D printing. The process prints variable thickness of the bioplastic PLA to allow or block light from passing through the lithograph. Printed at a detailed resolution of 0.12 mm When held up against a bright light, the photos come to life. Portrait lithographs are approximately 130 mm x 85 mm (5” x 3”) and come with a window suction cup. Each lithograph takes about 12 hours to print and despite the help of a 3D printer, it’s a process that requires a lot of fine tuning for every photograph in order to get the best possible image.
